About me

My name is Yasmin Hayes (MBACP (Accred) Dipl. Couns.), a BACP-accredited counsellor, trained to work with a range therapeutic models to support your individual needs.
After working in the financial industry for many years, I retrained as a counsellor after receiving the impactful benefits of therapy myself. Counselling is very aligned to my empathic nature and values of how to live with awareness and self-respect. I understand the initial difficulties that can arise in seeking help and fear of what may come up in sessions. I work at your pace and create a confidential environment, without judgement.
As well as working privately, I also work at a local hospice, where I support patients and their families in all aspects of living with a life-limiting illness. This also includes offering counselling for bereavement, negative thoughts, complicated grief and difficult family dynamics.

My Training and Experience
I completed a Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling from the Wealden College of Counselling & Psychotherapy (2022), including the philosophies of Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis therapy.

Each of these models complement each other by putting you - the client - first, and understanding the world through your experience. I believe that no one size fits all; we are unique individuals and my training enables me to work entirely with your needs in mind. We all have the capacity to live to our potential, if given the right support.

I have over 5 years' experience, and have undertaken continued personal development and training in:
Attachment
Anxiety
Bereavement and loss
Complicated grief
Depression
Self-esteem
Shame
Therapeutic use of creative arts
Trauma
Working with neurodiversity
Working with children of narcissists

I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists)
and work within the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions 2018.
